In the 1st quarter of 2010 the net profit of the Netmedia Capital Group amounted to 1,793 thousands of PLN, which constitutes a decrease of 5% in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year. The sales income amounted to 35,467 thousands of PLN, which constitutes a decrease of 8% in comparison to the 1st quarter of 2009. The recent quarter was the most succesful one in the company's history since the 1st quarter of 2009, regarding financial results.
The discontinuation of consolidation of the eMonety.pl company and the change in accounting of the reservation income had the greatest influence on the decrease of results in comparison to the previous year. In 2009 Netmedia has introduced the "pay-at-hotel" module, which is a very comfortable solution for the customers and allows higher profit margins. Yet, in case of a reservation paid at the hotel, only the commission paid to Netmedia by the hotels constitutes the income - not the whole value of the ordered service, as it was beforehand.

On the hotel booking market - the most important for the Netmedia Group - the Issuer has yet again attained record results in the 1Q' 2010. The total count of the reservations made by the company's own booking systems amounted to 32,553, which constitutes a growth of 26% in comparison to the corresponding period of 2009.

It has also been a very good quarter for Netmedia's company, Marco Polo Travel - the Polish leader in leisure cruise sales. The Company has attained high operational results and record net profits - an effect of increased marketing activities and the growth in the popularity of this form of tourism.

The prospects of the tourism branch - both in Poland and the whole of Europe - are getting better. According to the forecasts of the Institute of Tourism (www.intur.com.pl), in 2010 and the next years the number of tourists coming to Poland will steadily grow, as will the number of Polish and foreign tourists using the mass accommodation objects. The European Travel Commission (www.etc-corporate.org) also predicts improvement on the Polish and European tourism markets. This situation should improve the results of the Netmedia Group in the next quarters.
